Hey guys, I cant seem to get the bioshock demo to work. I tried it with bootcamp nvidia drivers and goes fine with the guy on the plane and then after the bioshock title comes up and starts decaying the screen goes black and it goes back to the desktop. I tried the newest drivers at lapy2go or whaterver with the modified ini and after i installed them and booted bioshock up i got the blue screen of death. So i rolled back to the preivous drivers.
Help would be greatly appreciated( It seems that people are getting it to run really well with the new drivers but they never state if they are using xp or vista.
So again help would be greatly appreciatied
BTW the MBP is a SR 2.4

nVIDIA released beta drivers made specifically for Bioshock.
So my guess is to check out the nvidia site for the download.

Good luck getting it to work!
I dont' plan to play it on my MBP, as it's a v2 CD unit. But it looks AMAZING on my 360 when I tried it on my dads 1080p tv. Freaking AMAZING.
Cant wait till I have money to buy it (but gotta get a new job and car first).

i tried the new drivers and i get the blue screen of death when i try to boot up bioshock

Hmmm. if you downloaded the new drivers it should be fine. Did you accidentally maybe download the XP drivers? That's the only thing I can think of.... Try using driver cleaner to clean out the drivers 100% and then reinstall and try again.

thanks minxshin you were exactly right somehow the drivers were xp ones the vista ones work great and im getting like 25fps on 1280x800 with everything on hi

Since you got a 2.4 can I ask a question? What's your frames per second like when you are swimming in the water in the very beginning in the game? Like when there are flames all around you? I have the 2.2 and wanted to compare frames per second with the 2.4s but no good comparisons are out yet.

i think it was around 16-25. Did you use FRAPS to check your FPS? If not what did you use? Rght when you come up for air its like 16-19 but once you start going towards the light house it would be in the 20-25 what about you?

Hrm, the game didn't seem all that interesting when I first heard about it and checked up on it, but after all the hype - I just might have to go ahead and try out the demo...
as soon as they fix all the bugs in it of course. -
I'm running it with the older macbook pro (2.16, X1600 128mb) and i'm experiencing no problems (considering the catalyst drivers don't exist for the X1600). I have it on high settings with 1280 x 800 resolution. Plays flawlessly.
BTW does anyone know if there is the bioshock driver for the X1600? -
I get around 13-15 in the water up to 18-21 ish when I'm swimming toward the building... So it's about a 5 fps difference the 2.2 and 2.4 I'm assuming...

what settings are you playing on?

1280x800 everything on high.
