    Hi guys,
I am going to purchase MBP soon. never used mac os, so, have no idea, but very excited. at any rate, I have several flash drives that were encrypted in Win7 using bitlocker. Will I be able to read those drives in Mac OS? (without dual booting).

The problem isn't really the type of files it is holding, it's the proprietary windows encryption.

If you want the files, you need to decrypt the drive first. If you don't want the files, you can still use the mac to reformat the flash and use it, but those files will be gone.

If you insist on having encrypted flash drives you could consider switching to Truecrypt which has Windows and Mac versions available.

    Thanks for the info.
The question isn't really if there any encrypting software on mac or win.
The question is more of "Is there anyway for me to access flash drive that was encrypted using Bitlocker, on Mac OS X?"

un-encrypt it first.... ? I haven't found any tool to allow Bitlocker use on non-Windows systems.... cuz there is little need to, just get rid of bitlocker.

Yup, you're going to have to decrypt the files and switch to a different encryption tool.

You can run windows inside an virtual machine, then use the flash drive that way.

Sure, but sometimes the easiest solution is the best one. Decrypt the files prior to using with your Mac.
