Ok so I have to write a research report for my university and I've chose to compare the two operating systems: Vista and OS X...
so I was wondering where I can find these books that deal with the technical aspects of the Mac OS X operating system???
Because I just can't find any books on these stuff and everything books I've came across are the "How-to" and the "dummies" books and they don't help me...
So do you guys know any books relating to what I'm talking about???

Hmm I don't think there are books out there like that. For one, the software for each operating system is proprietary, so you're not going to find a handy "here's all our secrets" handbook or whatnot. How much details are you looking for? The best bet it to scour the net, there a wealth of information out there. The trick is to find a nice source....

The definitive low-level book on OS X is Mac OS X Internals by Amit Singh. I'm pretty sure that book will have more than you need.
XNU, OS X's kernel is also based on Mach and BSD so information on how those work would probably also have relevance. -

"The missing manual". It should be available at your university library. If not, amazon should have it. Cheers!

And yes, I was leaning towards the User Interface and securities of the two operating systems. And you given me more topics to cover in specifics.
Thank you ^_^ -
you can also mention couple of things that MS and Apple "borrowed" from each other
