Greetings,
Be careful I am being totally biased here.
So I bought me a MBP 13" with C2D and nVidia GeForce 9400M.
First thing was that it was my first time buying a macbook, so OS X was totally new to me, and utter disappointment as well (not quite practical I must say compared to Windows). It misses alot, but only good thing about it is how fast and unbloated it is.
Also, on a side note, the form factor does appear so minimalistic and ugly, that's just me.![]()
I am considering selling the device soon.
As I said, I am being biased here, flame me if you wish.![]()

Hope you didn't pay much for it. Sounds like it was at least two models ago, 2009.
-
I am going to france in a couple of month and will sell it there, hopefully I'll gain profit or at least won't lose much of its value. -

If the MBP is ugly, then everything else is hideous.
-
To me I find Lenovo Thinkpad to look far better than Macbooks in general. -
Not sure if you will be able to sell it for that much in France. 1220$ is about 860€ and at least in Germany you can get older Macbook Pros cheaper than that. The 2010 Macbook Pro (last model before current refresh) is being sold of for 899€ new currently. The keyboard will also be an issue. I am assuming it is not a French Keyboard.
My advice for OSX is, try to be open minded and give it a chance. Many things are easier than Windows but might seem harder for you because how it is done is just different. Of course there are also many things that are better solved in Windows. It depends on your needs.
If you think the Macbook is ugly why did you buy one? You did no research at all before buying? -
I am gonna be patient and will give OS X another shot, I am being open minded mostly to new phones OS, but this is the first time I ever try a totally new os after 12 years of windows-only usage.
I did like the docking, the build quality and the smooth performance so far, but the OS X does seem to miss some stuff and it's unpractical in some situations (like for example the right click).
Did researched on the internet and in the market around here, but I bought it based totally on my desires and not logic, and right now I am regretting it and learned the lesson.
Was between Thinkpad and MBP, but I thought (why not give OS X a try) and here I am. -
Play around with the Trackpad configuration. Two finger scrolling and two finger right click can be nice.

Come on! -
didnt like OSX because I was so used to windows. then i started to dabble in linux then hackintosh OSX is really great to use for me now. I hardly spend time in windows now only when i am at work. give it time and i think youll notice it is really a bit easier.

If that is all you don't like about the OS then give it some more time.
You don't even mention what of substance is not what you expected and this makes it a little hard to take this too seriously for me? -
Gonna give it another shot tomorrow, right now I am writing this from a Windows XP gaming desktop.
I am trying to give it more time.
And I didn't understand your second sentence. -
I have to think you knew that the Mac OS would offer some difference in use and operation and the right click is one of those things.
It is there and works fine but may just take a little adjusting before it becomes second nature for you.
I can't consider these things as a disappointment they are just different.
There are also lots of things far superior to anything in the Windows world like the touchpad scrolling and gestures. I have yet to find a Windows machine even remotely as nice where the touchpad is concerned, even while running windows.
So you saying they just don't measure up is asking us to agree just because you say so?
What are you disappointed with specifically? What are not just adjustment issues but actual missing things of substance as you suggest?
I have found since switching that everything becomes simpler quickly and I soon was amazed that I ever preferred the windows world.
I have to use Windows all the time and mostly I can do it on a Mac but not always but wherever I do use Windows I am reminded why I feel so much more happy with the Mac experience. -

I think there are some things that Windows does well and there are some aspects that Mac OS X handles better. Neither OS is perfect and they both have their pros and cons. In fact, I would even say that there isn't a perfect OS or system out there. I could find flaws in any notebook or desktop even if it was a $5000 gaming setup.
That being said, I don't really know what you expected out of this post. You purchased a notebook that is 2 years old and are disappointed. I could buy a 2 year old Thinkpad and feel the same way. You really aren't comparing oranges to oranges here and it isn't fair to judge a line by looking at something that is outdated. That would be like me judging Windows based on my current experience with Windows ME or putting off all Windows notebooks because I came across a bad Lenovo release two years ago.
It is alright if you don't like Mac OS X or the MBP models. They aren't for everyone and neither is Windows and Lenovo's business centered high price paperweights. However, you should base your judgments on recent models and not something that was discontinued a year ago. -
I had the same reaction first time I used OS X, if you are to get used to it. you need to first get one thing straight, It's not windows, there is a totally different thought pattern behind it's design, and really it's not a bad design rather it's very different, and very simple. I personally own and use both and like both.

Yes and apparently their opinion regarding Mac OS X changed overnight just like their username.

HOW ON EARTH did you not tell that you wouldn't like the form factor???? did you honestly not look at a single picture of a macbook before you bought it?
