It is great! It runs smoothly (although I need to upgrade the ram). I have had zero heat problems, none. It runs cooler than my old dell. It gets a tad warm, but it is no where near uncomfortable. My battery life is great. I also got the $100 student discount and a free ipod. The laptop is great; now I just need to adjust to the mac system because I have been a Windows user my whole life. For those who are worry about those problems that have been around the web, I do not think that I would worry about them.

    Thats good to hear.

About the iPod, its a rebate isnt it? So you just buy it as normal with the MacBook, then send the rebate in?

I'm very glad you got a good system, but I wouldn't recommend others to not worry about it. The problems are rather wirdespread and still exist so, I'd still take caution before putting my money down.

I think the problems are not as widespread as they seem. I think it is people in forums like these who hear a few horror stories and perpetuate them.

On another note, glad to hear you like your Mac! I just made the switch last week and do not regret it one bit. I do feel a little bad because my Windows rig is just collecting dust now, but oh well!

I would have to agree. Most people who post on forums are ones who are having problems. At least Apple is good about exchanges. lol

Yeah, People take this as a "blog" site for negative things. It really is for all sorts of pros and cons and stuf. It seems that you are enjoying it... I believe the MacBook is really good, (defying the reality of how great it is.) To bad i cnt afford one! LoL

Yeah, the ipod is a mail-in rebate. I already have a 4gb ipod, so I will be selling this 2gb ipod and getting the rebate. What's really cool is I got a $20 discount on the ipod, so I will be able to sell it cheaper than one could buy it.
