    Hi Guys.

My school is currently selling Macbook Pro (2.4ghz 4mb model) for $1499, and knowing that major macbook pro revision is around the corner, do you guys think I should ignore the new revision rumors and just jump in??

I am pretty sure when new macbook pro comes out, i won't be able to purchase one at $1499, but same time since this is my first mac purchase, I kinda want to get the latest model... by the way, how are the resale value son macbook pro??

$1500 is a pretty good deal. I would take it.

Resale value is typically fairly solid on Macs.

It all depends on your need. If you need a laptop now, I'd take the deal. If you want the latest and greatest, I'd wait. (But like you said, if you can't afford the newer units, what's the point?)

The thing to consider is whether or not you want the 1st generation of the revision. You could end up with a flawless unit. Or you could end up suffering through all the growing pains.

This latest edition of the MBP certainly isn't perfect by any means but there's been a lot of time and work put in already to hammer out many of the earlier bugs/imperfections.

$1499 is a great deal, I'd take it. Even if the new MBPs are the greatest thing since sliced bread, you'll probably still be able to sell yours for a pretty good percent of the initial price, and maybe sell a kidney or something to be able to get the new model.

if it`s what you want buy it, if you wait for new models thinking next one will be the latest and greatest you will be doing without for a long time.

I would wait. If you would be able to get more money down the line for it, I would definitely wait.

Waiting is a fickle game. Something will always be better on the horizon and if you're wishy washy, you'll wait forever. If ya need it, get it.

$1,500 is a steal IMO. Take it and run. If you keep waiting for the next rev, you'll never buy a computer. The Penryn MBP's are awesome, btw.

    I just bought a 15" mbp =D

Either way Nehalem is the only thing worth to wait for. Montevina will be just slightly faster nothing really impressive at all.
