I'm looking to get a 17" MBP with antiglare screen, and the only upgrade I'm interested in for now is the 7200 rpm hard drive. I know that it's much cheaper to upgrade ram outside of Apple, but the hard drive is only $50 more. Apple won't disclose the make and model of their 7200 HDD, so I'm thinking that it would be better just to get the base config at the Apple store. Maybe I'll just live with the slower drive until SSD's come down in price and increase capacity. Besides, Apple online cosiders the faster hard drive to be a custom configuration, and they won't accept returns if I don't like it.
Ha! I think I've answered my question.
