My office mac 2004 trial version ended today. Now I don't know what to do. My university sells it for $100, but I heard the 2008 version is coming out soon. Any news? Is it possible to download and use the beta version of it?
I just hate paying for something and seeing 2 months later that a newer version has been released.

MS Office 2008 (for mac) will come out later this year. You can use neooffice (like open office) untill it comes out. Not sure if you can uninstall and reinstall the 30 day trial version. I would think not.
-
meaning whatever I install (the full version of MS Office 2004 if purchased from university or 2008) has to be installed on top of the trial version? Yeek. I'm sure there's a way to uninstall it.

no, he was saying that if you uninstall and reinstall the 30 day trial, you will not get another 30 days out of it.
-
No you dont need the trial to install the full version. I ment uninstall the trial/demo version and then reinstall it to get another 30 days of trial with the fresh install. I dont think that is possible.
But yes there is a way to uninstall it. MS gives the instructions here:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=office2004td -
It won't work. -
Before installing the full version of Office you're told to uninstall the trial anyway.
For now I wouldn't buy Office 2004 but rather go for a free alternative like NeoOffice or OpenOffice and wait for Office 08. -
it worked.
And yeah, I'm just gonna wait for 2008 to be released.
A big thanks to y'all!
Buy office mac 2004 now?
