Well, I cant wait till August so im just gonna go ahead and get it now![]()
I'm going to get the 2.4ghz version with the 256mb 8600![]()
Anyway I had a few questions about some accessories I was going to get. Any positive or negative feedback is appreciated as I may buy more accessories than I really need because I'm crazy (or paranoid)![]()
1. Does anyone know if getting a keyboard cover like the one in the link would hamper the cooling of the MBP? I heard it exhausts some air through the keyboard so i wasnt too sure it would be a good idea.

2. I think im going to get this bag from booq and was wondering if I should get a Iskin sleeve too or would that be overdoing it, or instead of a sleeve should I get a hard case from Speck?

3. If I do end up getting a sleeve, should i get the Iskin soho or the axio hardsleeve? Anyone have any experience with them that would like to chime in? How about a combination of the axio sleeve and their sling bag instead of the booq one from #2?![]()

Here are my reviews for the SOHO and the Speck case:

And these are two competing products, the Crumpler School Hymn and Techshell hardcase:

I highly recommend getting a bag from Timbuk2 or Chrome instead, while that one looks pretty nice, it really looks like overkill to me.
build your own timbuk2

chrome - I personally have one of these, very sturdy, made with excellent materials, and lifetime warranty, I may get a timbuk2 for my next computer though.

nice reviews there Cash. I guess the Speck would be a bit safer since i'll probably be paranoid about heat and the vents seem like they might help and its cheaper
.
Do you use the Speck case + sleeve or just one or the other?
The timbuk bag looks interesting, i'll have to consider it as well.
Anyone have any experience with the ProTouch keyboard protector? Would like to know if it prohibits cooling on the MBP like some have said. -
i have seen a lot of students at my school with the iSkin keyboard protectors, and the main reason I can recommend against them is that they will almost definitely be touching the screen when the screen is closed, leaving smudges on the screen almost everytime.
I don't know how much it prohibits the cooling necessarily, but I am sure it does indeed have some effect, although I am sure you would be fine.
but honestly, I don't think it is worth it overall, it is really not that hard to keep things from getting in the gaps of the keys.
