I will be purchasing a Macbook Pro in 2 or 3 weeks. I was just wondering if i need to purchase thru apple to get the $199 rebate on the IPod. I would prefer purchasing thru a retailer so i can return it easily if something happens or if i dont like it (im a switcher). Also, can you get the Education discount thru retailers? I know there are two official apple store around me. Can I get those deals there?
Thanks

Yes. Apple stores offer the deal and discount. Not sure about 3rd parties. There is a 14 day return policy with a 10% restocking fee.

Cool, thanks. I think I will just go to the Apple store and play around with one before i decide if I want to buy one or not. But there is about a 90% chance i will buy one. I cant resist the $50 Ipod and the $200 student discount. Thats saving me $400 right there. Plus the C2D Santa Rosa and the 8600GT. I think i will just get the 128mb version since i will only be playing games like WoW on it. No graphic intensive games. Thats what my 360 is for.
I never liked apple, but they have EARNED my buisness where as Microsoft more or less has forced my buisness (except with the 360, they earned it there and sony lost it). I still love Microsoft Products tho, I have a Zune and i love it, but you cant download videos from the Zune Marketplace yet.
Buying a Macbook Pro.
