Hi,
I (stupidly) put a mini-CD in the drive of my old-style MacBook Pro.
The computer didn't pick it up.
It is now stuck in the drive.
How do I get it out?
Many thanks,
Froskoy.

Take it to an apple service centre or do the bellow if you can.
I think you are going to have to remove the dvd-rw from the macbook and remove the dvd-rw lid to get to the dvd, or more dangerous , use a straightened out paper clip, bend a very short hook on the end an go fishing, but remember a lot of extremely sensitive electronics are inside. -
You could try restarting the Mac while holding down the eject key. Although the chances of that working are pretty slim.

Also have you tried holding the mac with the cd/dvd slot facing down, the disk might be just behind the material the slot is made of, use the edge of a credit card or similar , just be careful

don't put mini cd/dvd into any slot loading drive.

This comes up a lot. What you want to do is, get one of those long, thin standard screwdrivers. Turn on the MBP, and while holding the ALT key, put the screwdriver in the slot, push up and pull out and that should eject it.
Just kidding!!! Definitely don't do that! Just take it to an Apple store.

@Tinderbox: Thanks very much! The taking it apart option worked - I didn't fancy a half hour drive to the apple shop so thanks for this advice.
@talin: I was getting worried about your mental state until I read the last line!
rep given to both. -
