    Can I check hotmail with Mac Mail?

    I just opened the Mail program for the first time, it's pretty slick. My .mac account has expired, but I wonder if I could use Mail just like Outlook and Thunderbird? The accounts that I want to check are hotmail, yahoo, and google. Is is possible? or is Mail only for .mac accounts?

    i I added my gmail account, but what about hotmail? It's HTTP protocal, but I've heard they offer POP3 as well. There must be a way to do this...

    Windows Live Mail only offers POP3 to paying customers. The free version does not support anything.

    Can you even forward your hotmail incoming mail to another account, say a gmail account?

    You can use this Hotmail Plugin with out having to upgrade your account or forward to gmail

    Yes, Apple Mail doesn't really support Hotmail, as it has no free POP3 support; but there is a plugin, as JimyTheAssassin stated. I do not know how well it works though.

    GMail has free POP3 support, that's why it works with Apple Mail.

    cool, it works BUT there's a problem. After installing it, Mail downloaded all the folders in my hotmail and the mails in them, and the only thing it's not downloading is the actual hotmail inbox, which remains empty. Does anyone know why that is?
