Simply put, no, you cannot combine Student Discounts with refurbished Apple products. That'd be really cheap, though! :p

Depends. On a MacBook, you save $100, on a MBP you save $200 with a Student Discount.

In my mind buying refurbished is usually not a good idea, but Apple is one exception. I wouldn't really be looking for refurbs other than directly from Apple.

I can trust mac but no one else for a while Lenovo sold refurbished T61P's for 40% off there original price, I do not even trust Lenovo with new products let alone refurbished ones, another company is dell.

Apple is one of the few companies around that has a good reputation with regards to their refurbished products. My friend has a refurbished MB, thus far he hasn't had any problems.

You do get an education discount on AppleCare for refurbished Apple notebooks.
