I am thinking that maybe I could just replace the keyboard on it and it might do ok? the rest of it seems to still work.

What happened? Getting a new keyboard is probably the cheapest option.

hmm, if caught in a fire, you will probably also need a new screen. Have you tried to power it up yet? Does it still fully work? cause then that would confirm another story of powerbook in fire still working after that i have told people.

:p Actually it is another dudes laptop from a different forum. Server room caught on fire, everything melted in the hot-box. Surprisingly he caught the last minutes of the fire on the laptop through a webcam. So at least the HD was still readable. Not sure on the laptop as a whole. Cause of the fire was a APC 350CS that is on recall for fire hazards.

I'm pretty sure it's not just the keyboard that is damaged... :(
    Good luck.

Wow, that notebook looks like its gone through a lot, I'm not sure if it can be saved - you'll need a new keyboard and maybe a new screen at the least. Your laptop's internal components may have also been fried in the fire - was it actually on fire, or was it near it?
