... of two A4 sized documents placed side by side?
I'm thinking of getting a new laptop for reading documents mainly and realized that only apple's making 16:10 laptops anymore.
Thanks a lot!

I have a screenshot of mine at MAX resolution, however I should note that I generally use mine at the hi res anti glare resolution which is like 16 something 10 something... sorry I cant' remember the details and apple does the whole best for retina more space generic labeling...

Keep in mind that the retina display on the MBP is 2880x1800. (2*1440 x 2*900). If you set it up to match the real estate of a 1920x1200 display, then it will render internally at 2*1920 x 2*1200, which is 3840x2400. When you take a screenshot, it will come out at that resolution. However, images that you actually see are downscaled to the resolution of the display- 2880x1800. So the above image is actually quite a bit higher res than you would end up on the display. I linked the adjusted image below.
To get a feel for the screen real estate, find any 1920*1200 display.

Thanks for replying
I mainly use my laptop to read PDFs/word documents. I used to have a thinkpad with 1920x1200 (16:10) which could show two entire pages at a time. Now that they switched to 16:9 (1080p) there's always something missing (see attachment). It's very annoying and I'm hoping to get a RMBP (the only 16:10 computer available AFAIK) to solve that problem.
Do you mind uploading screenshots of the PDF (using 2-page view) and word (fitting 2 pages in the same window), like what I uploaded? Sorry for giving poor instructions before.
Also, I read that there are some problems in using microsoft word on the RMBP - be it mac os or windows 7 because they don't support the resoultion. Has the issue been resolved?
Thanks again. -

As of maybe 6 months ago, word 2011 for mac supports the retina display

The retina macbook pro comes out of the box with a resolution equivalent to 1440x900, but you can set it to 1920x1200 equivalent space. If 1920x1200 worked for you before, it will work with the retina macbook pro. -
Yes, but it would be nice to have the screenshots, especially at maximum resolution to see how readable the text is

If you have a Best Buy or Apple Store near you, you can test it yourself. The floor models should allow access to system preferences where you can adjust the scaling. Then open two Safari windows side by side. -
Unfortunately I don't have one around, so I have to rely on people here to help me out
Can someone with a 15 inch RMBP upload a screenshot....
