Hi,
We would like to be able to send faxes if we need to. Is that something that is still commonly done? In my line of work, we still work with faxes a lot and sometimes even doctors offices ask for something to be faxed. When you have a MacBookPro, does the OS provide the ability to send a fax, or do you have to have some special software or peripheral to do that?
Thanks...
adam

I'm sure there is, but it's nothing I do. And as you said, faxes are still common in some lines of work, so it would seem stupid if you couldnt. I will look into it for you.
==edit==
Did some googling, doesn't look as easy as I would've thought. Try searching for "mac faxing", "faxing mac (operating system here i.e. leopard, tiger, etc)", so on. -
you need the usb modem from apple

thats true. you will need to buy the usb modem.
alternatively, there are internet services that you can use to send and receive faxes (this keeps everything digital on your end) -
Okay...thanks..appreciate the help.

I use a cyberfax service so that I can send faxes by email (and receive, of course). I can post the website if you want (and it's allowed, which I don't know)
