I downloaded the latest version of Windows Live Messenger yesterday, and I haven't been able to sign - I keep getting "currently unavailable or you're not connected to the internet.' Well, I'm connected, and I'm pretty sure the service hasn't been down for the past 48 hours. I tried without the built in firewall but no avail. I also tried using Adium, but it just sits there (little circle within a square keeps going round and round, I'm thinking it's trying to sign on).

I'm also using Skype and it works fine.

    Any suggestions?

As I mentioned in my original post I already tried Adium, but it still does not connect.

I can't be expected to actually read your post! for the love of.... ^_^

sorry, it could possibly be an issue with MSN, but that is fairly unlikely, I would keep giving it a go with Adium and see if you have any luck, and if you can you may try logging into the same account on a PC version of MSN to see if it is the account or something like that.

oh, reboot the computer, make sure it is plugged in, and all that good stuff. ^_^

I've tried with a couple different accounts but nothing. I've also restarted many times, and uninstalled & reinstalled Adium but again no luck.

I personally prefer Adium over aMSN and Windows Live Messenger, Adium looks really nice and clean and obviously fully customizable on how it looks.

The previous version of Messenger worked for you before upgrading to Live Messenger? Maybe grab a program like AppZapper which can uninstall everything relating to MSN Messenger and you might be able to start from scratch again?

No, it's never worked on this computer. I've only tried it on a PC.

Well, at least Skype connects fine :).
