Is the Canadian student discount rebate done online as well or is it through mail? It's just that i want to take advantage of the printer deal and the ipod touch, but if it's through mail it may be hard to get all the required information to the right places.
Also, i'm going to need a mac compatible router. I've never used a router before so i don't have one. Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about the discounts, but as for the router that works with a MAC I wouldn't worry about that. Any router should work just fine with a Mac as it does with a Windows or Linux based computer.

You don't need to specifically find a Mac compatible router, basically any major router will work fine!

i think the student discount (the 100/200$ off stuff) should be instant when you enter the educational store with your student id. the other stuff (ipod touch, etc) i think is mail-in

The Canadian Ipod/printer deal is mail in. Witch sucks cause it will take longer since they are somewhere out east.
I got a question, Where do you enter the student ID (for the Canadian site) So far I haven't seen anywhere asking for a student ID, but I haven't completed the Checkout, but it didn't ask for it with all the other information. The only thing I saw was a drop down box to select your school. But that's it. -
On the apple.ca store, theres a link on the left that says "Education Store".
Click on that, and thats where you plug in all the info.
Or just click on this link to ge there ;p -
its a special education site you need to go to

I have decided not to buy from macs website. It ends up being cheaper buying from futureshop on the employee discount when i factor in the other stuff i'm buying (router, external HD, speakers).
Thanks, though -

Either way they never really checked it anyways, you could put in a random number, and it would still take it. So they could have just gotten rid of it. -
I was told that they do check before they ship out the order. they call the school to verify that the number is valid and to make sure that they havn't violated the 1 computer per school year rule.
