I need a good case recommendation for a 15" macbook pro. Something with a padded compartment that is pretty snug, and has room for a clipboard, power cord, and mouse.

Any suggestions or experiences with any of them?

    Thanks!

What kind of case do you want this to be? A simple slip-on case (which you probably won't find one with all of that room), a messenger bag style case, a traditional notebook carrying case, or a backpack?

I like the kind you carry with your hand.

Looking like a brief case or laptop bag is ok. Shoulder strap is optional. Don't like backpacks.

    Thanks!

Would a sleeve like that have room for a clipboard and mouse? Racer-X looks pretty good though...

    What do you guys use?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately you probably aren't going to find someone on here with years of experience with each brand. You might but the odds are kind of slim. In all honesty, the mid to high level carrying cases are all kind of the same to me. I have used a Racer X with a Dell 14" notebook (even though it was for the 15" MBP) and I thought it was about on par with every other business class carrying case (often called bags) I have used whether it was from Lenovo, Targus, etc.

I eventually switched to a Hurley backpack once I purchased my own notebook so I could stop using the ones supplied to me by the IT department since I was starting to take classes (for some crazy reason, the U.S. government looks down on its employees using government PC's for personal use).
