I like most everything about the new MacBook Pro, except the low screen resolution. I know that you can replace a laptop LCD if it breaks, so when apple comes out with MBPs with higher res screens, will I be able to buy a new display and install it in my machine?
-
I don't think they will come out with higher res screens.
-
Is it possible to get a higher res LED screen, made for a different laptop, but that fits the MBP?
-
For the New MB/P no, the whole top piece is one thing, at least that's what I've read. You might be able to dissect it, but I don't think so.
-
Yea, im pretty sure itd be possible, as long as they didnt change the connections to the video card in a newer refresh.
Although I'd think they would change things if they were to change the screen resolution at some point. -
It is not possible to replace just the screen on the new ones.

Read number 4.
You would have to get the whole top, so unless they make a higher res screen for them, your out of luck. But I think if they where going to do a higher res screen they would of done it already. -
So what happens if the LCD breaks when it is under warranty? Will they replace the whole top half, or give you a new laptop?
-
I'd assume theyd replace the whole top.
But yea, if they dont change the pins, or dimensions if they release a higher res version, theres probably no reason why it wouldnt work.
Changing the new MacBook Pro screen?
