Is my battery dead / bad or something? it won't charge to 100%!

    Charge Information:
    Charge Remaining (mAh): 5351
    Fully Charged: Yes
    Charging: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5632
    Health Information:
    Cycle Count: 12

What is the reason for this?

What's wrong? As far as I know most or at least many laptops won't charge the battery unless it is under 95% charge. If you bring the battery down to 93% and try to charge it, does it go above 95%?

Have you tried draining the battery below 90% and then charging again? In general, Macbooks will not charge the battery if it is above 95% in charge, as namaiki said.

It's to prevent overcharging the battery. It's a very minor limitation of the state of the battery technology.

It will charge up to 100% in most cases, but not if you only drain it slightly from fully charged.

It's not a permanent effect in any case. Nothing to worry about.
