Coconut says my Current battery capacity is 5614 and the original battery capacity is 5500 mah.... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I started at about 97% battery health and now it's up to 100... I have two batteries that get swapped out all the time, my MBP is on about 14 hours a day, being on A/C for about 6 of those hours... I usually swap out the battery at 4% capacity and charge it up again after I am done work and the second battery is at about 30% charge left. Is it bad to always be running it down to very low and charging it all the way up? Other than getting loads of cycles in. ????
I Didn't know that batteries could gain capacity... but my health has been increasing since I first purchased the second battery off of eBay. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining in the least, but I am wondering if this is bad in the long run... ie is it not gonna last as long now? Or can I get even higher capacity?

Your question is somewhat answered here
:
Anyways, I wouldn't worry about it. Battery health indicators aren't 100% accurate.
Try iStat Pro and other monitors, see what they read of your battery health. -
That didn't answer any of my questions sam,
All battery meters that I have found show my health as 100% because it shows that I have more capacity than the original battery spec.... oh well.
My real question though was whether or not my practices for battery charging on a daily basis would reduce the life of the battery or not... irregardless of the battery health. -
Yes it did: "Battery health indicators such as iStat Pro often are not 100% accurate"
To answer the second question, as long as the battery doesn't drain to 0%, using up a battery until its charge is very low is fine. -
I Didn't use just iStat pro, I used coconut... which is in the thread title and it is supposed to be far more accurate than the istat battery indicator. As for the second thing, I meant... Does draining to low percentages ALL THE TIME over a period of say a year instead of recharging at random intervels like if it was at 50% or say only 75% and then I plugged it in again to full, have any difference on the battery in the long run. So if I were to drain one battery all the way below 5% and then charged it to 100% again for an entire year, how would that be different than draining a second battery to whatever % I used it to and chargin up till full again? Besides the obvious difference in cycles... Heh.. my inability to communicate my questions properly can be frustrating at times, can't it?
