So I just got ahold of the latest Safari 4 Developer Preview, and I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Apple/Webkit team for rising to the challenge of the Acid3 test and beating basically everyone else to the punch to boot. I'll add that the ability to select Windows Default font smoothing - basically fixing 98% of the blurriness in Safari for Windows 3.x - is also a very welcome change. Get that "tabbed browsing" thing down and we'll talk complete switch from FF (hint: middle-click-to-close, smarter handling of new-window-in-new-tab).

Here's a screenshot of Safari 4 DP and Microsoft's lovely IE8 developer beta side-by-side in the Acid3 test. Commence rolling on the floor laughing:

    LOL! That's hilarious!

Anyway, I'm happy Apple's picking up the pace with Safari! If they do Safari 4 well, I might switch back (currently on Firefox 3).

I have some annoyances with safari, and if it's indeed improved in 4, I'll stick with it for good. :)
