Wouldn't surprise me if it was happening during shipping, the box my MBP came in had a big hole in it. (luckily it was double boxed) Maybe they have a problem with their packaging design.

Good support maybe, if you do nothing particularly worthwhile. The individual experience on a personal interaction level may be good, but the repeats and downtime aren't - and AASP's who do onsite are a crap shoot (in my case, so crap I wanted to shoot them).

Maybe the cracked screens are perhaps down to the over-decontenting of the packaging? Apple is - and kudos to them - cutting down on giant boxes containing a labyrinth of cardboard and polystyrene, but maybe with the 27", packaging designed for the iMac has been taken a step too far?

As for the i7, what Mac would be a Mac without the inevitable 'oops, our QC is still ****' Rev.A issue?
