Ive just purchased this....
CT2KIT51264BC1067 - 8GB Kit (4GBx2), 204-pin SODIMM , DDR3 PC3-8500 from Crucial.com GB
Anyone else using Crucial memory? If so, any comments on whether its good/bad?
-
I'm using Crucial, haven't had a problem yet.
-
Excellent - just wanted some reassurance before it arrived!!
Just need to wait for delivery now! -
I have Crucial 8GB, 4GB X2 as well.
-
Crucial isn't always the cheapest, but they make very good memory... probably one of the highest quality memory providers. They are the front retail end of Micron and make their own memory, not just buy Samsung and others and slap them on sticks with a label and their name like many other memory makers do. I've had very few bad sticks of Crucial ever, and they always replace them easily.

Yeah I love Crucial . I have 8 GB (2x4) sticks in my lappy right now. Snappy RAM. I have never had a bad experience with them in over 5 years
-
Excellent - should receive mine in the next day or two!
On another note - did you sell your 4GB that you removed on, or did you keep it??
I upgraded my HDD that came with my system to a SSD, but kept the HDD as well in case I ever needed to return the system to Apple in the future for repair etc. Just wondering if I should keep the 4GB RAM as well in case I need to stick the old RAM back in?? -
I sold my old 4GB's. I hope I never need them for warranty repair.
-
I would sell mine as well - I kept my old HDD as I wouldnt want to send the system away anywhere with my SSD in!
Not sure if I really need to keep the old RAM as well though...... -
Assuming you need one more person to give positive feedback on those memory sticks from Crucial, add me as a happy customer. They have never failed me in any of the machines I've installed Crucial sticks on.
-
The kit arrived today so I'll be upgrading when a get a chance!
