Do you mean burn as in burn to be played on DVD players, or just burn the files onto the disc in order to transfer/play them on other computers? If it's for DVD players, maintaining the subtitles might be tricky. Toast Titantium (not free) does do a good job of burning DVD player compatible DVDs, although you do need an entire 4.7GB DVD for one single 600-700MB video file.
If you just want to burn the files, just use Finder.

Burn DVD to play it on DVD players. I tried BURN but then it doesn't have support for subtitles.

Use the I-DVD or DVD Studio it will allow you to create "Chapters" . But don't expect it to be the same as your source DVD.

Can you skip the DVD player all together and plug your mac directly into your TV? This could save you a heap of time and $$$ on discs.

I did this a few years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made.
