I wrestled in my head for the last week regarding buying a MacBook or a MacBook Pro and I eventually came to the conclusion that its not worth waiting for a MacBook update, i'll just go for the MacBook Pro.

I want to know, do all 15" MacBook Pro's come with new LED screens? and which would be better, glossy or matte?

    I'll be getting the:
    2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    1440 x 900 resolution
    2GB memory
    120GB hard drive1
    8x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics with 128MB SDRAM

Yes, all come with LEDs. I got the matte and its slightly duller than the glossy but not nearly as reflective.

Generally, if you are going to use it in an office like setting where light reflection will bother you, get matte. If you are a photo/video enthusiast, get glossy.

Go to a Apple store and check them out for yourself, its the only way to really know.

all the 15" macbook pro's come with the LED screen.

glossy or matte is entirely personal preference.

glossy looks better, but is more susceptible to glare than matte. that is pretty much the entire difference.

    agreed with above.

pretend your laptop was a mirror that only displayed intense light. thats basically the one problem with the glossy screen. if you are in a situation where, if you screen were a mirror, and you could see a strong light source, glossy will probably annoy you.

however, the macbook pro screen is not nearly "as glossy" as many others, especially from sony. soft lights (ambient) won't affect the screen, even if they are bright. sharp direct lights most likely will.

I vote for matte, but just go to an Apple Store and compare for yourself. The LED backlight is super bright, you'll love it.

I vote for glossy, unless you need colors to be truer. The matte screen is great, but I just like the vibrancy of the glossy better, and reflections and glare don't bother me. As suggested, go to the store and check them out yourself. Sure the Apple store's lighting is a bit brighter than most offices, but it'd be a good test to see how you can stand reflections and whatnot.

I went to the shop on Saturday - and can say that i could not see almost any difference in brightness on Matte or Glossy, also colors were almost the same. The only difference was that you could see all the reflections on Glossy.
    I ordered Matte.
