I have owned my MacBook Pro (17" MacBook Pro, OS: Windows Vista; graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 PCI Express) for the past three months and initially I used Windows XP. Now I use Vista.

From day-1, I started getting a distortion in the display of the monitor when I shut and open the machine without turning it off. I informed my supplier who reformatted the hard-disk and re-installed all programs.

After I installed EFI Firmware update, I keep getting this distortion continuously. Our supplier has given up on giving me a solution.

My colleague at the office who uses the same model has the same problem.

Another person at the office who got his MacBook Pro (with a Nvidia graphics card) does not have such a problem. His machine is perfect.

    I would appreciate a solution.
