I was reading up about the Alum Macbook, and I don't really like it.
The Polycarb books also have multi touch right?
I also read that they are still making the whitebook, and saw the specs for it on wikipedia.
That one doesn't take DDR3 correct?
Theoretically, what is the fastest stick of DDR3 the Aluminum can take?
(Lets just assume that this stick had already been made and is cheapish)
Can the new Poly Books take over DDR2 800MHz since the FSB is higher (1066 or something IIRC)
Anyways, I don't like aluminum, or white. Do they still make the blackbooks? With the P7350 proc?
It's either this, or a X200s with a nice P8600 and SSD.
I love the X200 because it is smaller, and feels better built. But my friends blackbook is sexy, and OSX seems great.

no they do not make black plastic macbook anymore.
the white plastic macbook do have multitouch, although the trackpad in the alu one is made from glass.
not too sure about the white one cannot take ddr3 but, yes it comes ddr2 as standard.
the one they put in is the fastest that it will take, i think they have 1066mhz DDR3 memmory for unibody. upgrading the memmory to higher speed is not recommended, laptop have power consumption and heat to worry about.
personally i go get the alumunium one, the top end one to be precise. -
The white one does not offer all of the multi-touch gestures. It only offers two finger scroll and tap functions. It does not offer pinch & zoom, rotate or Expose swipe.

I just want the basic Multi tough stuff that my buddy has. He like has all these gestures and can scroll between 4 VMs and 18 windows/tabs with a finger flick.
What was the last blackbook model made?
Does the new Whitebook also share that Glossy LCD???
I really don't want the Alum, I've been drooling over the macbook for 3 years, I see nothing of interest in the Alum except for the P8600 Processor and the ability to screw with DDR3.
DDR3 runs at higher clock speeds due to it having much greater latency times. 1066 is pretty low for DDR3, I just want to know if anybody has found the theoretical limit for DDR3 so I have something to look forward to buying to get the extra .5% preformance lol. -
Do they make an Early 09 Blackbook???
