Like expose, the new cover-flow, etc. Or can it be done on an Intel generic chip, without special graphics cards (nVidea or ATI).
Thanks

Even Intel's current onboard chips are quite capable of rendering the effects. They are not nearly as resource straining as Vista's.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
yea the intel chip will run it, but it might be a good idea to stock up on Ram before then.

The GMA 950 should be fine, although it may stutter from time to time, or not be quite as smooth as a MBP. But you probably won't notice.

I have no problem running those effects with my GMA950 on the MacBook. Cover Flow moves beautifully. Expose is fine. Umm...the Dashboard water ripples are fine. The minimize effect is fine. Yeah, don't worry about it.

You know there are screensavers that do that to your desktop too. Check out "LotsaWater" and "Desktop Puddle". -
I rarely use my screensaver, I just close the lid when I go away
. But I'll take a look at those.

Well it's too distracting and CPU intensive to run certain effects while I'm using the computer, so a screensaver when idle is the next best option
Do you need a graphics to render the 3D effects in OS X?
