i'm just curious do mac notebook users take out their battery at home.
According to Apple site, users are not suppose to leave their battery inside the notebook 24/7.

My MBP has been on, and plugged in, pretty much 24/7 for almost a year. And yea, the battery has definitely taken a hit.
I would have taken it out, but I'd rather not have my laptop turn off if the magsafe gets pulled out when im doing something important.
If you really want to leave it on all the time, I'd reccomend two batteries. One for when its plugged in, and another for when you want to use just the battery. That way, you'll have one battery that should last long when running off of it, and the other will be there incase the magsafe gets pulled out.
If I dont get my battery replaced by apple, I'll end up getting a second sometime soon, cause mine only lasts about 2 hours now. -
umm maybe I should just get a used battery and use it for desktoping.

I never keep a battery in a laptop unless I'm totally remote.

I keep my battery in 24-7 unless I'm cleaning it - than I'll take it out briefly. Regularly I'm using the magsafe, and I take it off the magsafe about twice a week until it's about 10%. So I haven't really been vigorously using my battery at all.
Right now, my battery's been pretty amazing.
From system profiler:
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 5239
Remaining Capacity (mAh): 5238
Cycle Count: 95

I keep my battery in, plugged in on Sleep nearly all the time, plus the regular about once-a-week Shut Down.

Li-Ion batteries have a finite life expectancy. From they day they're produced, they're slowly dying. Even if you take it out of your laptop, it will still eventually die off and need replacement.

The way I see it is that the battery will eventually die out, so you might as well use it moderately. Use it or you lose it.

the OP battery care instruction is for; when you do not plan to use your notebook for extended period of time (like a year or two). only then it is a good idea to take out the battery.
i never take out my notebook battery, i rarely move my notebook; what i do instead is using the notebook off the battery every few weeks or once a month or so.
i do a discharge to about 10%-20% then recharge it again. -
Never remove my battery either. Had my mb for ~2years now and health is still showing ~98%, and I get a good 3-4h with moderate usage.

you know what. after reading you guys comments, i have decided to leave the battery 24/7. I have class monday to friday, and 4 hours class everyday. It is very annoying to charge the battery and remove it on the weekends....
I guess i will do a 10% drain battery recharge thing every 3 to 4 months.... -
Hmm, what if I take macbook batteries off and have it connected to a UPS? Power supply uninterrupted (assuming nobody will come and knock off the macsafe out of the macbook).

as apple has said; running without battery will caused reduce performance. because the processor will automatically downclocked.
Do you take out your battery?
