    Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone can confirm that the matte 17" unibody has the same screen (higher colour range) as the new glossy 17" with just a different finish?

I've read a lot of threads but can't find any solid facts regarding this?

    Regards,
    Simon

    Good question ?

I hope to hear from good sources whether this is true for the Matte screen model also.

Also, I wonder if they just ditch the glass, use the same base screen and just put the silver bezel around it.

I don't know about the color question but they ditch the glass. The frame looks exactly like the previous generation 15/17" MBP frame.

I can't find any info about this anywhere.
I'm assuming it's the new high colour screen just without the glass... but it would be good to confirm this.

Well it's probably the same panel but with a matte coat instead. The difference compared to by example Dell, is, that they don't just put a glassplate in front of a matte screen. They use a pure screen covered and secured by glass. So you get the pure image without any diffuse lighting but a lot of reflections.
