The terms and conditions of the Apple Education say you must either be a college student or a staff member of a school. However you do not have to prove that you qualify. As a high school student, I doubt you really need a laptop so I would wait for college anyway.

Yeah, its post-secondary/higher education students only, unfortunately! There are some stores like Future Shop in Canada that offer their own Mac bundles, see if there's any in stores around your area!

Hey guys,
Thanks a ton for all the replies.
Also, There is nothing that is going to pursuade me not to get a laptop... I've had one before, and want another one. Right now im using a Dell desktop with a P4 and a gig of ram (I WANT A CORE 2 DUO TO USE ALL THE TIME!
) My laptop was an IBM Thinkpad a21m. That lasted a whopping eight years. So, I do take care of my stuff, and won't use it simply for myspace.. and that junk. I am learning C#, getting pretty good at html, and wanting to start playing with flash. I don't really care if I don't "need" a laptop, but I do need a computer, and if you can be mobile. Why not be mobile? The worst thing is being tied down inside the house on your desktop on a beautiful day, or wanting to go to a friends and play a game together... not too much fun with a desktop, eh? Plus, the only thing I can think a college student will be doing that I won't is maybe using different applications, like CAD, and taking notes on their laptop. Which I can't do at my school.
I'll be writing es says, maybe not as many. All kinds of stuff. So, just throwing that out there.

I definitely see what you mean, eyepwnuall! (actually, you do not pwn us all
)
It was a stroke of luck that I got this MacBook, but really, I think I "must" have a notebook nowadays. Unless I have the money for it, a notebook will be my main computer. But my dad paid for this desktop I got
, so this is an exception.

is the educational discount online only?or you can use in apple store?if yes, what documents do u need for that?a little OT tho...

MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Couldn't you just say that you're a member of the staff if you go to one of the schools listed? A 10% discount is pretty good (plus a free iPod Touch which you can easily make $300 selling).
-
well,I look more like a student in my late "tenth"
-
Well being a freshmen in high school i obviously didn't meet the criteria for the endorsement. However my grandpa is on staff at the University of Kansas hospital which counts as being on staff at a college or university. So if you have a friend that is in college that can go with you to buy it you might be able to work something out.
-
No, you can take the Student Discount at the Store, all you need is a Student ID or even just logging into the school website, I've heard!
-
Yep, it's that easy. I bought my MBP at the store and all I had to do was show my student ID. I bought my iMac online by logging in through my university's store, which brought me to my school's page on Apple.com (It's basically the same exact Apply store with your university's name and the discounted prices).
Does the Apple free ipod deal work for high school students?
