I have a mbp Santa rosa. Whenever I open it after the lid is closed and it resumes, I have to manually reconnect to my campus network. Does anyone know how to make it automatic?

It should be automatic as long as the network is "trusted"...you do know it takes a few seconds from Sleep for the Mac to reconnect to the network, right?

I know it takes a few seconds. But if I let it sit, it still doesn't connect. I need to manually click on the network to enable it.

Have you set it up to automatically connect in the System Preference or organised your network hierarchy?

I don't have my MBP here, but it's in System Preferences - Network - Airport.

Do what Starlight said, I have no problem with everything reconnecting after I reopen the lid. I also put my campus network at the top of the list.
