On the right side over the CD drive if i "press" it creaks. It feels pretty cheap which seems out of place.
Anyone else have this?
-
Not I. Rock solid
-
rock solid on mine too.
-
Mine does!!!! It really annoys me! Both the right and left palm rests creak, the grey plastic edging seems to be coming loose. Also the aluminum just above the latch release is bending outwards. Im disappointed this is happening considering my notebooks not even a year old and rarely moved from my desk. Anyone know if this sort of thing is covered by applecare?
-
Solid here as well.
-
solid for me too
-
Mine groans a bit when I wake it from a deep sleep, but seems to cheer up as it becomes fully alert. It screamed once when I put it in a sleeve getting ready to leave the house. Claustophobic, I guess.
Aside from those petty emotional weaknesses, it's very solid physically. -
Put me down as quiet.
-
Ok, try this.
LIGHTLY push down on the front right (above slot) and the back left (by the magsafe) with it in your lap and tell me if it "Creaks".
-
OK, I followed your instructions. No creaking for me.
-
Wait a second...this is beginning to sound like an old episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show".
"Now take you Macbook, put it in a sack, go out in your yard and, while waving the sack in the air, cluck like a chicken." Can you hear the creak now? -
YES!!!! I did as you said, as soon as I started clucking, there it was, loud as thunder!
Anyways, yes, mine creaks a little in some specific movement or pressure, doesn't annoy me.
The metal above the button for the latch is also bent a little (very little, but noticable) and that annoys me a bit. The machine is spotless and that's the only flaw I have found after intesive scrutiny. I hold an Apple up to higher aesthetic standards than most other laptops! -
Mine irritates me sometimes because just resting my hand to type can make it "groan."
I don't think it's too bad for me to deal with, just wondering if it was too be expected like warped lids.
Does your MBP "creak"?
