I know this has been discussed in prior threads, but it is so cool I thought I'd mention it again. PLUS... I've got a video embeded. superwow!

iAlertU is a car alarm system for your MacBook computer. iAlertU uses the built in motion sensor device to detect movement of your MacBook and triggers an audible and visual alarm. The alarm can also be triggered by keyboard and mouse/trackpad movement. The alarm is designed to continue sounding even after the MacBook screen has been closed.

iAlertU is activated and deactivated using the infrared remote control inlcluded with every MacBook computer. User adjustable settings let you decide which type of alarm triggers you would like to use, the duration of the alarm, and motion sensor sensitivity. iAlertU will soon feature functionality to utilize the built in iSight camera to photograph the would be thief and email the photo to a user specified email address.

Thanks ;). Don't take this application too seriously though.

If you hold down the Power Button the alarm will sound, but after about 3 seconds the computer will still Shut Down and the alarm will stop. It's a really cool toy though, but I still think no one should ever leave their computer unattended where there is an opportunity for theft.

No, it's not enough to save the Macbook, but it will get your attention if you look away for a second. I love it!!!

True, but chances are that whoever is trying to steal it will just try to close it and leave. I think it's pretty cool. I've had it for a long time but haven't really left the macbook alone.

That screen saver is very cool. to bad it is 10 dollars and looks dumb when it advertises. Otherwise I'd keep it.

It is a gimmick but something is always better then nothing.

My notebook goes with me. To the bathroom, the drinking fountains, etc. If I leave the table it goes with me. I don't trust other people will watch it etc. It is my responsibility not theirs.

    But it is nifty.
