I'm curious about good deals on Adobe CS3 premium. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but, if it's worth anything, I want the Mac version, lol. I ask because I can buy it from school for $315, but I wanted to check if it's possible to get it elsewhere for cheaper, before dropping almost 400 bones on it. (Please don't post "LimeWire" or the pirate bay as a response =P)
-
No, thats pretty much the cheapest. Retail is around $2000.
-
Yeah, $315 looks to be the best price. Which Premium are you talking about anyways, Design, Web, Production or Master?
And have you considered buying the programs separately if you don't need them all? -
I'm going to need all of CS3 for my course, so buying them separately would be more costly. Uh, I'm not sure which version, it's the one that comes with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, and Acrobat Pro.
And wow, I didn't know $2000 was the retail price of that stuff O_O Seems like you pretty much have to be a student to afford it. Well thanks, I definatley won't pass up this chance then, I'll pick it up tomorrow. -
Yeah, Adobe software at retail price is ridiculous...but the businesses that use it pay it back easily, considering how much you can charge to design a professional website and such...
-
True, true, however it'd be nice if they at least offered a watered down version for casual users. Maybe offer both Professional and Consumer lines.
-
Well, they have the Elements line for casual users.
-
Yeah, Photoshop Elements would be the watered-down version. It is much cheaper, and offers most of the basic tools that most users will use/need.
-
you are gonna need the design suit. You can go to journeyed.com they should have it for $400. Your school should have a deal with them or something for a student discount.
-
they do need to make stripped down versions of Pshop and Illustrator, but, the price is not that bad if you use the software professionally... pays for itself very quickly...
-
golive is gone it has been replaced by dreamweaver, which is also much more capable.
that is a great price for the entire design premium package, I say go for it. -
need it for a course? and the school doesnt provide it to you? interesting. Tell me its at least on computers at the school, if so, and if you wont be using it much after the course, use it at school, and skip buying it.
-
Yeah, $315 is a great price...I mean, being in high school still, the only way I can get any educational discount on Adobe software is through the Adobe Education Store, which significantly reduces prices but not to your level...just Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended alone will cost me $300 CDN/US, and I'm already broke

Yes, we're allowed to use all the Mac Pros at school any time we want, and they all have every Adobe product. But I want to be able to use it during weekends, and for my own personal enjoyment. IDK, the only supplies schools give now adays are the lists of everything you need to buy for said course, lol. I'd be very surprised(and happy) if they give us any time of personal items. I mean, I had to pay $70 for the pin number to even activate my online account to take tests/practice tests for my Computer Applications class...
-
sounds like your gonna have to just bite the bullet. Good luck, and get it over with fast! youll thank yourself later anyways once you have it up and running
enjoy, i have yet to use anything besides CS on a mac

http://www.journeyed.com/adobeclp/
You can check there if your school is listed. But I think it will be about the same price 299-320$. -
Thanks, but it's not listed on there
Seems like it would be around the same price though. Seems like I'll have to postpone buying it for a week or so >.< Lots of other more important things to get, and I have a $500 per day limit
Don't think this should go here, but oh well (CS3 price).
