I bootcamped my macbook into Windows XP to play Dragon Age Origin, and the game lagged when I connect the macbook to an external 22" monitor and tried to play Dragon Age with it. What could be the reason that causing the lagging?Could it be a 22" monitor is too much for a macbook in bootcamp Windows?

    Wow. Where. To. Begin.

Really? You tried to run Dragon Age with integrated graphics?

Yeah and it's pretty good if not on the external monitor, and the long loading time after a long period of game play problem doesn't happen to my system like one of my friends has, and he is on a good graphic card, recenntly built system.

I heard the game has some kind of memory leaking problem that it tends to freeze or have a very long loading time.(This is not really related to my main topic)

its not the size of the monitor thats going to be an issue... its the resolution your choosing to run at. If you running on an external monitor at 1920x1200 ... well yeah, its gonna choke and die, just like a lot of "PCs" would. You need to adjust your graphics settings to something the graphics can handle. I'm guessing your using a Macbook with a 9400M .... which should be able to play the game decently... try running the external 22" at the same res or smaller than what it ran on the internal screen at ok.. which should be 1280x800. .... I'd try to play in something smaller even if it still wasn't smooth enough, and play with all the graphics options, disabling unneeded eye candy that can help speed.

There could also be the way I've heard that XP doesn't like setting an external monitor on a Macbook to primary..... some games and/or video drivers will run things slower or not quite right on a secondary monitor.

I turned off the macbook dislay and use the external monitor only. Now the lagging is minimized, and also with a low setting, the character is moving much fater than before. This game is playable with 9400M, at a low settting. Although 9400M can handle it at middle setting, the movement of the character is noticablly slow, so this game is better to play under low setting with an external-monitor-only setting. Dual monitor would make the game lags badly.
