    Hi

I bought a macbook before they upgraded the 13" into macbook pro and had some driver issues with windows, the screen flickered on windows which was very annoying so I returned it, is there any improvement in the new refresh, i heard they have better screens?
Is the screen quality on the 15" better than the 13" ignoring the resolution
I am willing to pay up to 3000$ but I can't justify the price differences, as we all agree apple screws the customers when it comes to small hardware improvements
I am a Canadian student so I will be putting that student ID to good use

    Thanks

I own and use the so called 1st generation macbook. And Windows within Boot-camp never gives me any issues with drivers.

What flickering issue are you talking about? Always, or only in certain apps?

    cheers ...

No specific application triggered it but it flickered from time to time for no reason, you could see the lower part of the screen flicker like old TVs

the drivers still suck but you can just download the current release drivers from nvidia/ intel etc and just use the apple touchpad driver

The nvidia drivers have been very good so far on my machine.

As to your question about the quality of the 15" vs 13" screens. They're supposedly the same...and yes they've gotten better (60% better color gamut).

that would depend on whether you prefer glossy or antiglare, as there is really no difference other than the difference itself.

antiglare doesn't have glare. glossy has more vibrant colors.

Thats a nice way to put it, then let me ask this, is the back light bright enough on the 17"
apple stores are very bright and judging the laptop screen and brightness in the store is not the best idea I think

Just run windows in virtual machine. Those Vm windows driver are much better than the bootcamp ones.
