Ok so Im having problems trying to find a decent guide on how to do this,(Most of them are outdated and what not) but I want to have the ability to use Ubuntu and OSX.

I currently have Ubuntu in Virtual Box, but I would like for my whole system to be able to switch from OSX and Ubuntu and boot or w/e.

Also, I have Ubuntu saved on my external HD iso file. So will I need to actually burn it to disk?

I also read that you can use bootcamp to do this.

So whats the easiest way to do this without having to reinstall osx(if I really dont have to)

    Thanks

Use bootcamp to shrink your os x volume, then just go ahead and install from the ubuntu disk.

You most certainly can install Ubuntu via Boot Camp. Take a look at the attachment, and it will guide you through all you need to do to get it running in no time. Just to let you know, it will say you need Windows XP or Vista 32-bit, but you can use Ubuntu. ;)

I've tried with 8.04 and 8.10, but haven't had the chance to try 9.0 quite yet. I'm expecting it to go just as planned, with no hiccups, but we never know until we try.

I actually have Ubuntu 9.04 installed on my MBP. Everything is working so far but I haven't tested much since I'm always on OSX. I'm going to delete it soon because there can only be one *nix on my MBP and thats OSX! :D

Why do you want Ubuntu? You already have OS X.

9.04 is the latest & it has been pretty good to me so far.

Something new like HDung said and to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to new Linux Distro releases. Since, I'm in the IT field, its looks good during interviews to say I have some experience in ....... Linux distro.
