I'm running Windows XP (32 bit) on Bootcamp on my 2008 MBP with nvidia 8600m GT graphichs card. I cannot select my external monitor to be the primary monitor because it's grayed-out (I can't select it where it says 'use this monitor as my primary monitor').
I just went onto nvidia's website and downloaded the latest drivers and installed them. No difference. Anyone know how I can achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know this one?

Okay, I even inserted the Snow Leopard disk while in Windows XP mode just so I could install the Bootcamp drivers and it made no difference. I still cant make my external monitor the primary one.... huh!!!
-
Yeah I can't either with XP, but I can with Win 7.

I think its something on how the EFI maps the video, again wont work on XP, works well on 7
-
How did you get a copy of 7 already? I thought it gets released tomorrow? You can run it it Bootcamp?
-
I have had 7 for quite some time ( betas and MSDN ) and many people got the RTM and Preview versions back in the summer but yes official release is tomorrow

What is EFI? I only know it as Electronic Fuel Injection, the reason I installed XP, so that I could run a tuning program for my fuel injected motorcycle.

LOL, Extensible Firmware Interface, its what replaced the legacy BIOS in computers
-
Have you got the Extend my Windows desktop to this monitor ticked?
-
Yes, but even if I deselect it (uncheck it), the "Use this device as the primary monitor" is still grayed-out.
Dual monitor running Bootcamp.. PLEASE HELP.
