Bought a MBP just a week ago after looking at HP's and Alienware. I realized that i should get a balanced laptop so i bought a MBP with 6750m. Its a wonderful combo and works very well with Windows.

I use Windows as my goto OS in MBP, now the problem is that i get shocked continuously anywhere "metal" i touch while it charges . After a light read i was lead to believe that there is an earthing problem at my house so i tried it in the mall and my friends house but again the same problem.

I sent it to Apple India to get it changed but i got a replay that the unit was fine and needed no replacement :O

In India the dam thing is overpriced to about $2750 from $2200 and this is the support i get from Apple India. Thus before i put my foot up their a** is there anyway to fix this issue easily?

BTW- That 6750m is one hell of a good card its almost as good in games as my friends m14x pretty nice combo. I hope i dont have to return the dam thing and buy some other lappy :p ....

Are you plugged into a grounded plug/power outlet. Just buy one of those and use the three pronged extension cable.

I wonder if shocking it is the equivalent of the static electric damage you avoid when trying to mod any laptop. In other words, it may be causing long term damage to the logicboard in ways that are irreversible.

The only person I ever knew that had a problem very much like that, had a bad adapter using a US plug in a foreign country. They bought a new plug adapter and it worked fine.

If you don't use a plug adapter, it could just be a bad Power brick... did you nly send in the laptop for them to look at, or the power brick too? Make sure if you talk to them again, and oyu sent the power brick, that they actually tested yours and didn't just use their own like they'd usually do.

Thx doh123 for the suggestion, had a chat with support sending the whole thing again. They checked it with their own power brick and did not even touch mine :(

At least the continuous factor rules out static electricity.
