As an employee of one of Apple's corporate partners, I am eligible for the EEP (employee purchase program) discount.

Can anybody tell me whether or not this discount can be utilized in a local Apple Store or must it only be used for online purchases?

Why don't you call or go in and ask them? Seems like they would know best.

yes, but sitting here at my desk and simply typing questions allows me to exert much less energy (typical american) :). I would have emailed the question to Apple directly, but was unable to locate an email addy anywhere. Perhaps I'll walk over to the Apple store during my lunch break if nobody on these forums is knowledgeable of the EPP.

You're within walking distance of an Apple Store and you would still rather post this question. LOL!

Well I don't know the answer to your question and I'm too lazy to read this: Corporate Employee Purchase Program (EPP) Terms and Conditions :p.

You can also try The Apple Store's Chat Now function. I think you need to select a product, then the Chat Now box will appear.

Edit: Here's a picture in reference of where to look for Chat Now:

LOL, just give them a call or walk over. ;)

I would think they would honor it. If they don't, you can always just say
"fine, I'll just order online," and then they may change their story. ;)

I got a state employee discount on my MBP 2.4 Ghz by just walking in with my state I.D. badge. Discount was about $200

Thanks, Xander. You succeeded at making me feel even lazier than I was originally:laugh:
I did this, talked to Nina (the expert), and she replied with a straight to the point, nearing robotic answer of "Online Store". However...

Considering our buddy1065 here got the discount within the store, I am still going to attempt it when I go to purchase my MBP.
Once again, thank you all for the laughs and your prompt replies. good day.

I actually called the Apple Store today during my lunch break and, before I even got to the EPP question, determined I will be ordering my MBP online. I am an editor/compositor by trade, so naturally, I would want a 7200 RPM HD under the hood of my MBP. It turns out they do not have any MBPs equipped with the 7200 RPM HDs readily available in the store. If that "upgrade" is desired, it would need to be customized online.

Oh... well... guess I will have to go through the anxious days of waiting for the mail. At least I know I'll be getting the EPP discount without any problem.
