Using SpeedTest.net , my DL and UL speeds are on the order of 10x slower in OS X (15k versus 1.5k).
Any tips on how to bring them up to speed.

Whoa, that's crazy!
On my MacBook, I get the same speed as on my desktop. Both 5 kbps... -

I'll post one from OS X when i reboot, but its def not that fast. -

Any updates?
You've had 12 hours to reboot into OS X and post a screenshot.

You're at the University of Pittsburg, right? Contact the Technology Help Desk at 412-624-HELP.

You guys mean Mbps, right?
-
Yes, I meant 5 mbps, or 5000 kbps. Thanks for catching that.

yeah.. i guess it is. I tried my desktop and it was a bit faster. Probably because it is directly connected with an ethernet cable. I was running off my airport card for that last test so... yah. Whatever though.

Yeah, OS X is so much slower
Also, for those on residential connections, don't expect 20Mbps. -
That is really weird...I have identical speeds for my MacBook and desktop...I wonder why yours is so different?
-
There is also no difference between OS X and XP on my laptop. I hit my 3 mbps limit on both.
Then again, thats over wireless... but I thought I hit the same speed when I last tested it hardwired. -
My macbook pro tests fine with speedtests, but pages look up very slowly. It's extremely frustrating.
