Is there a keyboard shortcut (Or a method of creating one) for the ability to toggle whether I want F1 - F12 to be software or hardware functions? (If you're not sure what this option is, go to System Pref -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard

Once you set up one of the Fx Key shortcuts (or keep one of the ones OS X sets up) that pretty much takes over that keys normal function. At the bottom of the screen you mentioned you can set up program specific "overrides" but I was unable to cause this to put say an F9 that was mapped to something to map back to a plain F9 when a program was running.
My solution was to remap all the OS X stuff on plain Fx keys to CTRL Fx or ALT FX etc and just leave the Fx keys as Fx keys. I suppose that will work great til I try and use a "normal" Mac ;-) -

I guess it'll have to do. I was just curious as to whether there is a short cut or not. Oh well, thanks for your help anyway.
