Ive got a macbook pro and since I bought it the f9 and f10 keys never worked. I recently tried them when I had it running off the battery and, lo and behold, the keys turn the keyboard lights up and down. However, when I have it plugged back in they dont work. How do I get them to work while the computer is plugged in?

The lights in the room are probably too bright. Turn them off and try again. The MBP adjusts lighting according to the light it detects in the room. If it's above a certain level they dont turn on.

the keys are meant to manually adjust the backlights. I am pointing out that the keys work when its on battery and DONT WORK when its plugged in. I already knew about the light sensors..

edit: nevermind, the buttons work when the lights are low :S. But how can i get them to work in high light conditions? Sry stupid stuff above

Kinda like my toughbook, where in high light situations the keyboard backlight is dim.

I personally don't worry about it... in high light situations, you can't even see that they are lit anyways.
