    Hey, I was just searching through the forum on the macrumors site and I ran into this thread. Some guy figured out how to control the speed of the fans in the MBP.

    I used the smc scripts he had and wow......they actually work. I chose the 3500 rpm speed and right away I heard the fans speed up. They aren't loud at all either. The temp dropped 15 degree celsius.

    ohhh that would be handy. It rarely gets really hot, but when it does... it woudl be nice to have that control

    I personally wouldn't mess with this, it just voids the Apple Warranty, if they wanted you to have this kind of access they would have given it to you, in this case they did not, so anything you do would void it.
