This post is just intended to get an idea of other people's experiences with the new firmware update for the Macbook. It has certainly fixed the moo on my unit and lowered the operating temperature, but I wonder if anyone else has had programs hang on them?
Since my update, I've seen the beachball of death about five times in Safari and a few times in other applications. This didn't occur once before the update. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I know there is also a program on Apples website called updatewasher which I think does the same thing, but its meant to be run after system updates.
On my own macbook with the SMC, no I didnt have any problems, however a week later I had some shutdown issues but running that maintanence 3.5 seem to fix it as I never had it happen again.
Anyways I recommend the program to anyone, its pretty much the one-stop fix any issue script. -
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll download that and give it a try.

I forgot to mention one thing, its not really a big thing either, but whenever 3.5 is run for some reason it can "lose" your account photo, and it also might even change some of the icon appearances such as if I had a .jpg file and I have Adobe Photoshop installed, it would change from the previewer icon to the adobe photoshop icon but it still opened in previewer, usually just going into photobooth or whatever and setting your account photo back fixes that issue, and just doing a get info on a file with a different icon appearance and making sure its selected to open with the program you want it too will fix the icon change.
Anyways, I'm probably not being very clear but you'll see what I mean when it happens, it only takes a few seconds of your time, just be happy its an operation you don't exactly have to do often on OS X.
Firmware update causes Macbook to hang?
