Got the 2.13 MacBook Air coming in soon and wondering what are the best things to do when it gets here? Any suggested apps or dongles or cases?
And read somewhere that this particular model lags in tests because of an SSD firmware issue. Anyone know what's up with that?
I want to keep the sweetness slim downed and agile as possible. I will be using it primarily, if not solely, for work - writing and research.
A 24" iMac is my main computer, but I'm still relatively new to the mac world and still trying to mine the most out of it.
Appreciate any helpful hints and tips. Thanks in advance.

The MacBook Air is a pretty capable laptop, much more than it was when it launched. There really isn't anything that you couldn't do on the MacBook Air that you would do on your iMac. There's really nothing that you'll have to do. I'd recommend installing Apple iWork 09 or Microsoft Office 2008. I have both Mac versions, and I think iWork can actually be superior depending on what you're doing. This is a little off topic, but I think that including iWork on every Mac could be a smart move for Apple, really letting you do whatever you want however you want to do it out of the box.

^well, only difference is that air will do complex staff much slower

Has Apple actually solved the core shut-down issues. For example, can the current Airs actually run at, say, 75% load for prolonged periods of time (over an hour)?
If not, the Air is essentially half the advertised speed except for short "bursts" or periods of time. -
Thanks Xirurg. I use OO now but will take a look at the iWorks.
@applebook: from what i've read that issue was taken care of -
yes,that issue was solved!

. Apple has a free trial on their site, it's worth the money if you want a decent upgrade from Open Office.

You do have almost 7,000 posts in seventeen months
...
I don't know where I was going with that, but if having most posts sooner means that, well, alright.
