Ok, I lied slightly in the title. But for all effective purposes it applys to some people depending on their line of work
I just received that above from apple today in the mail, (editing out the activation key of course) And along with a free (365 day account, that i can renew by doing the same thing next year) i also earnt my ASP and APP certificates. (Apple Sales Professional and Apple Product Professional respectively) which come with certification and a apple lapel pin.
And i plan on doing my Apple Technician training & exam soonish (paid by my employer)
Anyway like i said a totally free MobileMe account that unfortunately you can only get if you work in a place that either sells apples or repairs apples.
http://salestraining.apple.com for the exams and training for all things apple related.
And http://sales.apple.com for all the latest news, specs, release dates, educational discounts etc etc.
Both handy though in my line of work i don't sell, I handle the technical side (aka repairs, replacements, Customer service etc etc)
If you'r lucky enough to work in a place that does sell or repair apples then you get for free mobileme account by sitting and passing (with a 80% mark) of MobileMe Exam and by being a gold level on salestraining.
Doubt it helps many people, but it might so i'll put it out there.

Cool...for you
how is the job BTW?
-
Meh, the jobs a job i suppose, what i'd really like to do is startup my own business as a Sole Technician and charge by the hour....
The job im currently in i find restrained due to the procedures you have to follow when working on different jobs and customer interaction. Unfortunatly i can't start a business as im halfway though my university couse of Computer networks and distrubuted systems (Yay CNDS)
Love working on machines with hardware/software issues, hate customers
-
Ok il give that i go, i am a AMCT. hopefully il get a free account, thanks for the heads up
-
Ha !!!! Made me look !
Glad to hear you scored on Mobile Me. Good luck on your certifications and work -
lol Slash
-
Yeah, I got the same deal thanks to the sales relationship with Apple that my part time job has.
Free MobileMe = epic win. -
is it really useful?
-
The websites?
Or MobileMe? -
Ha ha, got me too on the thread title. However I did score a MobileMe subscription on Ebay for only $45.00. Not too bad.
-
Not too Shaby HLdan
Also, apparently my employer is entitled to a gsx.apple.com account (and currently has a system administrator)
Oh and HL, in the UK a mobileme costs £60 about $100 OUTRAGES -
mobile me
-
Yea actually....
Though i ran into a bit of a problem with my @msn account....
turns out i can only forward @hotmail/msn/live emails to another msn/hotmail/live account, Did somethinking and reading and i created a subdomain from one of my main domain names and setup email forwarding on that to my @me.com email. (I created a www.msn.mydomain.com and then got a email like that [email protected]) which Msn accepted.....
So it goes, email goes to msn, msn forward to my email server, my email server forwards to my MobileMe account, and MobileMe keeps all my pcs/ipods/phones/macs updated
One Macbook Pro, one ipod Touch, one Vista PC, and one Samsung phone.
Works pretty well and if i know now (after using it) i would probably invest in it -
just finished it and the key should arrive within 14days
somewhat* glad to work at a retail store (at least i consider this as an added bonus)
besides apple, do you guys know of any other companies that offer such a thing, say discount on other purchases?
thanks -
on the side note, i see some people with 31k of points; do they have other (better) things to do? -_-'
-
Nice, CoolHotCold! I wouldn't mind a free MobileMe account
.
Oops

MobileMe is actually a really bad FAIL in my eyes...
So I directly went to buying my own Website and Hosting =/
For most users, yes it is great, but for what Apple could shell out... sorry no thank you... they could have some personal storage spaces for various files (Adobe standards etc... example)
I would LOVE to work at an Apple store, or anything Apple related...
But after the one trainer said his teeth crack and turn to dust throughout the day as he gives 1 hour One to One session on how to open Safari and use it...
I cannot stand teaching/showing/answering such questions... YES as an advanced (GarageBand, Shake, Adobe whatever) suuure
But "So can I actually use my iPhone to play videos and music?" and "So the wifi on the iPod touch works anywhere right? Because you guys seem to be lying since my friends iPhone has internet wherever he goes" or "Why cant I install a Windows program on my Mac? And why wont my *insert Apple only software* doesnt work on my PC?" will drive me up the walls

chewing through hours telling people how to use/operate camera is just as frustrating; but with my background in photog i am much more willing to answer people relating to camera issue than mac. that's for sure.
about your comment about mobileme acct being failure or not:
the point of this thread is about getting free. and spending only 2hours or less in total is worthwhile(more so than worthwhile). but would i pay for it? obvious enough
-
Yes, I would gladly get it for free (now its related lol)
But I definitely do not like the idea of all the missing features and some various problems and limits...
